Conservatory
Garden
This is the showpiece of the park! Conservatory Garden is
the home to the Italian, English and French formal gardens
of the park. Each accompanied by their own ornamental fountain.

Fort
Clinton
Few park visitors realize that Central Park is the home
to three strategic Revolutionary and War of 1812 forts and
batteries. These were occupied by the British and German
Hessians through out their occupation during the Revolutionary
War.

Harlem
Meer
At 11 acres, the third largest water body in the park. The
Harlem Meer restoration of 1993 added the Dana Discovery
center and garnished the follow awards: the 1994 New York
City Landmarks Preservation Award, the American Society
of Landscape Architects' Design Merit Award, and the Victorian
Society's Citation of Merit. ”The Heritage Trees,”
some of the park’s largest and oldest, remain.

Woods
The forested canopy and hidden waterfalls drown out all presence
of the city in this 90-acre woodland of oak, hickory, maple,
and ash. The Huddlestone and Glenspan archways stand sentinel
to a lovely loch. Here, along with the Ramble, is some of
the Park’s best birding.

Central
Park Pool
Romantic, secluded, and surrounded by some of the finest assortment
of trees to be found in the park. This tranquil 2-acre respite
was newly restored and reopened in the autumn of 2002 |
